Hi, my name is Fern (Fernie to some). I started this web page in August 1998 as a beginner but I have been enjoying learning how to make improvements.

Here I am with my husband Bob, relaxing at home. Next is a pic of us on the boat at Waterfire. WaterFire Providence ia the award-winning sculpture by Barnaby Evans installed on the three rivers of downtown Providence. I am a boat captain volunteer for this magnificent production. It is hard to see each person but I am driving the boat and all the volunteers on the boat are dressed in black to blend in with the dramatic artistic display. We are responsible for setting up the fires, lighting them and then feeding them so that they stay lit. Waterfire runs from about April through October on certain weekends.

In August 1998, my son David started attending the University of Hawaii, which is a long way from home. Dave distinguished himself with excellent grades(all A's) and awards of scholarship. I am so very proud of him. This is a picture of David and me taken just before we said goodbye in Hawaii. His hair was very long then.

Here is a newer picture of David with my youngest daughter Kelli(with his short hair). Next are two pictures of David at his graduation. How time flies! He graduated in May 2002 with a BS majoring in agriculture/aquaculture and minoring in biology. He graduated with honors.

This pic is of Kelli and me saying goodbye when she started college in September 1999. She was attending the University of California at Santa Barbara: another far away place.

Here are some newer pictures of Kelli at her graduation, four years later! She graduated in June 2003 majoring in film and bio-psychology. Kelli graduated with honors and she is now in medical school to become a neurologist. The first graduation picture is of Kelli, then with David and then with her boyfriend Ryan, who graduated with her. I am so proud of Kelli too.

This is a picture of my oldest daughter Jami who died February 2, 2001. I miss her most of all because it will be a very long time before we see each other again. She was a beautiful, caring, loving girl. Please visit her memorial page by clicking the subpage below.
